Hashem Abedi
Hashem Abedi conspired to murder 22 people, at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester on 22 May 2017. The youngest of his victims was eight-year-old Saffie-Rose Roussos; nine of his victims were still teenagers. Sourcing chemicals and building prototype bombs with his brother Salman, Salman detonated a bomb in the Manchester Arena which killed 22 and injured over 1,000. He was convicted in 2020, receiving a life sentence with a minimum of 55 years for the 22 murders.
In custody in 2020 he and two other terrorists attacked a prison officer, adding three years and ten months to his sentence. In April 2025 he threw hot cooking oil and stabbed three officers with homemade blades.
